Dr. Alberto Martínez-Ortí coll.

The malacological collection Martínez-Ortí began to form in 1988 when he began the first steps in the realization of his PhD , under the direction of Professor Celso Rodríguez Babío, at the Universitat de València, without completing even a Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. It is composed of approximately 5,000 species of terrestrial molluscs, freshwater and marine in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, and in which is included the type material of various taxa he described for Science: Abida secale meridionalis, Antalis caprottii, Candidula corbellai, Spiralix gloriae, Sardopaladilhia marianae, Xerocrassa edmundi or Xerocrassa roblesi, among others.
